SYNESTHESIA (2009)
Producer, writer, and director
My formal education and work in fine arts has evolved over the years into illustration projects (e.g. graphic novels and picture books). Synesthesia, a film I created, explores the power of human perception by utilizing over fifty of my illustrations and collages, most of them in mixed media. Illustration, collage and photomontage are used to capture the story of a musician who experiences a personal transformation into a mythological creature that has the power of flight. Synesthesia was screened in 2009, with a live cello performance, as part of a fundraiser for my meditation center in Manhattan. The animation was also curated as part of a group exhibition in Paper City Studios, Mt. Holyoke, Massachusetts, the same year.
