The Path to the Mirror is an experimental film inspired by the life of Argentinean poet Alejandra Pizarnik and her attempts to use poetry as a catalyst to transform her identity and capture the everyday aspects of her existence that shape her career as a writer and diarist.
This project focuses on the role of poetry, written diaries, and photography in the making of history and memory.  The Path to the Mirror pays close attention to these dynamics and reflects on the almost intangible or invisible conversation between the poems and the diaries of Pizarnik, which blend two essential elements of language and her life.
I began working on this film by writing a series of vignettes inspired by the diaries of Alejandra, who was very isolated for most of her life and found refuge in reading and writing to attempt to communicate with the world. In this project, I combine three main elements: video, performance with multimedia, and photography.
